Where are the best schools in North Idaho ?

Kootenai County maintains consistently above-average SAT scores.
Kootenai County is served by four school districts, they are:

Coeur d'Alene # 271 serves the City of Coeur d'Alene and Hayden Lake. The district serves over 8600 students in grades K through 12 and provides Project Coeur d'Alene an alternative high school. Lakeland, District #272 is based in Rathdrum and serves over 4000 students in the cities of Rathdrum, Twin Lakes, Sprit Lake, Athol, and Hauser. Post Falls, District #273 serves 4000 students in the City of Post Falls. The district provides one high school, a middle school and three elementary schools. The district also offers an alternative high school which serves students from both Post Falls and Lakeland

Kootenai joint school district #274 is located about 45 miles southeast of Coeur d Alene and has a student population of approximately 300 in grades K-12. The district employs 18 support staff, 22 instructional staff and two administrators. The district office is located at 8100 E. O' Gara Road, Harrison, ID 83833. Telephone (208) 689-3631

In addition to the public school system, Kootenai County also has many fine private schools. They are: Coeur d' Alene Christian School, North Idaho Christian School, Falls Academy and Lake City Junior Academy.

Kootenai County is also the home of North Idaho College (NIC). NIC is a two year institution with comprehensive educational programs, and has served Idaho's five northern counties for more than 60 years. The college enrolls over 3,400 students annually and another 6,000 students attend special interest and non-credit classes. Lewis-Clark State College has a remote learning center in Coeur d'Alene to provide the final two years of a baccalaureate degree in a variety of areas including Business Administration, Business Administration-Management Accounting, Nursing, Social Work, Communication Arts and Elementary Education. Classes are offered days, evenings and weekends.

The University of Idaho has a center located in Coeur d'Alene that allows students to finish various degrees in education and business without having to leave the Coeur d'Alene area. The College of Education programs include bachelor and graduate degrees in industrial technology, education, human services and counseling.
